The Infinity Messenger

The installation will enable the visitor to transmit messages to whom or whatever. Whether the sender denotes infinity, eternity, or God as the recipient, remains a mystery to all but the sender.

The message

The idea is that the visitor can effect change with his or her message. Even a single photon sent by the visitor affects the causal nexus, as evidenced by the flapping of a butterfly's wing.

The laser

The Infinity Messenger transmits the messages via a beam of light. A never-ending interaction of dualistic wave-particles that disseminate at unbelievable speed around the Earth, our solar system, our galaxy, the universe, other universes, and infinity.

The future is formed through previous events. Causality is a chain.

The photons

Photons do not stop a bus. However, the snowball or butterfly effect could. The determinacy of the universe is questionable.

The new future

Will photons change the course of the future? Yes! Minute changes can have major consequences, which reach all the way to infinity.

Material and technology

Materials: aluminium, wood, acrylic glass, laser, TFT touch display, Arduino Mega 2560 controller. Another Arduino Uno controller with an SD card shield stores the messages.

The constricting form is meant to show the transition from our universe to other universes and thus symbolizes the concept of infinity.

Send your message ...

In ancient Egypt the obelisk was viewed as the link between the earthly and celestial realms. Standing in front of an obelisk-shaped machine, you can send your own personal message into the universe – infinity – eternity – God – the afterlife – extra-terrestrial life – or whatever other metaphor you prefer.

The Infinity Messenger will convert typed messages into laser light waves that will be beamed through the window into the sky. Within seconds your idea will be transformed into laser light particles and will be able to circulate in the universe for all eternity.

Send your message! Be spontaneous, thoughtful, passionate, sustainable….
Spread your thoughts, your wishes, your hopes and dreams. Whatever it is, after a blink of an eye it will have reached everyone on earth and start travelling outwards.

Will photons change the course of the future? Yes! Because the smallest changes can have big consequences. The future depends on the previous events. Here and now, the cause-effect chain is triggered by your key press.

Nell'antico Egitto l'obelisco era considerato il collegamento tra il regno terreno e quello celeste. Utilizzando la macchina a forma di obelisco davanti a te, potrai mandare il tuo messaggio all'universo – all'infinito – a Dio – all'aldilà – a forme di vita extra-terrestri – o a qualunque metafora che perferisci.

Il Messagero dell'Infinito convertirà I tuoi messaggi digitati in onde laser che saranno poi teletrasportate attraverso la finestra verso il cielo. In pochi secondi il tuo messaggio sarà transformato in particelle di luce laser e potranno circolare nell'universo per tutta l'eternità.

Diffondi I tuoi pensieri, desideri, speranze e sogni. Qualunque cosa sia, dopo un battito di ciglia, avrà ragguinto tutto il mondo e avrà iniziato a viaggiare oltre I confini terrestri.
È possibile che I fotoni cambino il percorso del futuro? Si! Perché I cambiamenti più piccoli possono avere un grande impatto. Il futuro dipende dagli eventi precedenti. Qui e adesso, sei tu ad azionare la catena causa – effetto schiacciando il tasto chiave.
